INTRODUCTION

These are among the best databases for their respective subjects.
You can not access their contents directly by browser. You first have to search the database, then the records relating to your search woill be displayed in your browser window.
A few of the databases
In 1992, there was no easy way for most people to access this kind of information online, particularly from their own homes and their own convenience.. You could access some general databases that your local library provided for you, but you had to use a text-based interface: telnet.

MEDICINE	PubMed (Medline)	Largest online medical database in the world. An abstract of the contents of each record is provided, but you have to go to a commercial database (such as Ingenta) to get (and pay for) a display of the full text. From the federal National Library of Medicine.
